5 Essential Skin Care Tips for Summer

Humidity, heat, and UV rays – these things can take a toll on your skin. It can create massive breakouts due to heavy sweating and oiliness. But the most dangerous effect it can do to your skin is the development of skin cancer. Not to worry since we have prepared a list of vital steps you can take to preserve your skin’s beauty and protect its health.

Sunscreen is life!

You just can’t avoid the sun forever! Sunscreen is your best friend and it is imperative to wear when you are exposed to the sun for extended periods of time.  Choose a sunscreen that has an SPF of 30 to ensure protection against the harmful UV rays. Make sure that you re-apply every after 2 hours to ensure that lasting protection.

Exfoliate your body

The skin cells present in our body shed at a rapid rate. These cells need to be exfoliated or your skin can end up looking dry, dead and you’ll appear older. Grab yourself a scrub of your choice and when you hit the bath, scoop an average amount of the product to gently massage over your body and rinse. Make sure to use facial scrub for your face and not the body scrub. Add this to your skincare regimen 2-3 times a week.

SPF enriched make-up

Natural looks shine out the most during the summer but if you intend to use make-up, apply minimally. Use make-up that is reinforced with SPF to protect your skin from UV rays without compromising beauty from safety. Do not forget to wear lip balm with SPF of 15 or higher to prevent your lips from cracking.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water and if you are planning on traveling or going for a stroll, carry a water bottle and remember to rehydrate at least once every 30 minutes. Water keeps you from getting dehydrated and it allows your skin to look supple and moist.

Moisturize with lotion

After a long day of exposure to the sun, your skin might have lost its moisture and elasticity. To remedy this dilemma, after going taking a bath, wear a moisturizer to refresh your skin. Choose something that is light and fast absorbing.

Summer is here and we want you to have a safe, fun, and healthy summer. Cheers!
